Extremist terrorists staged coordinated attacks on police outposts and police stations in Maungtaw Region and also destroyed the refugee camps and set fire to the villages.
Bengalis in Cheinkhali Village, Yathedaung Township set fire to their homes at 1 pm today before proceeding to Myitnar Bengali Village and Mayu mountain ranges. Similarly, Bengalis from Cedipyin Village in Yathedaung Township destroyed their houses at 1: 40 pm and moved on to Chinywa Village.
The extremist terrorists launched organized attacks on police outposts and police stations in Maungtaw, Buthidaung and Yathedaung Townships simultaneously early this morning. The latest development is as follows:
(1) Police outposts attacked 30
(2) Death toll 11(one security personnel and 10 policemen)
(3) Deputy Township Immigration Officer 1
(4) Number of injured 11 (3 seriously)
(5) Arms taken 6
(6) Bodies of extremist terrorists retrieved 59
(7) One extremist terrorist was arrested
Three vehicles of border guard police battalion were attacked with mine in front of Maunghnama Village’s mosque in Maungtaw Township at 2 pm when they were on reinforcement mission and fighting continues.
It can be concluded that those extremist terrorists launched organized attacks in synchronization with the issue of final report by the Advisory Commission on Rakhine State led by Kofi Annan and UN General Assembly to be held from 12 to 25 September 2017.
