Hnin Si Yin Khwin Foundation donates cash for Rakhine development
Naypyitaw, April 5

The ceremony of cash donation by the Hnin Si Yin Khwin Foundation was held on 5 April 2018 at the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre in Nay Pyi Taw.

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi expressed her belief yesterday that the artistes of Myanmar who continue to donate to help develop Rakhine State are supporting the Union government not only monetarily but also spiritually.
State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, chairman of the UEHRD made the remarks at a ceremony. State counselor said that the contribution of the artistes to the country could motivate and make the people interested. This donation is not just for Rakhine State, but also for the stability of the country. National reconciliation is important for the peace and stability of the country, saying that diverse opinions bring people closer. The artists need to spread the thinking of negotiation and rationalization to the people. Arts support our peace and national reconciliation process, and our peace and national reconciliation process supports the arts.

At the ceremony, Director Maung Myo Min handed over Ks. 65 million to Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye, Vice Chairman of UEHRD in Rakhine State.

UN’s Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator visits Maungtaw
Maungtaw, April 5

Ms. Ursula Mueller, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and party visited Kainggyi Village in Maungtaw Township and met with Mro and Rakhine ethnic people on 5 April 2018. The UN’s Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator asked about matters relating to the villagers’ experiences during the terrorist attack, the current situation, and needs of the villagers.

The delegation visited the houses constructed by government for the Mro ethnic people. Then, they went to Pan Taw Pyin Village and Shwe Zar Village where they met with residents of Shwe Zar Village and the UN official encouraged them to continue living in harmony and requested the religious leaders to negotiate among them in order to avoid conflicts.

The UN delegation also visited Hla Pho Khaung reception centre. In the centre, there are 625 buildings and each building has eight apartments.
