Myanmar people living abroad donate towards UEHRD
Naypyitaw, June 27
On behalf of Myanmar people who are staying abroad, Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin donated cash to the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement on 22 June 2018.
For the projects of UEHRD, 15,000 Australian dollars from Myanmar families in Sydney, Australia and US$ 3,900 from a Myanmar in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia were donated, while $11,000 was contributed by Myanmar Ambassador to the United States, officials from the Myanmar Embassy and Myanmar people staying in the US, plus $250 from Myanmar people in New York and US$ 6,350 donated by Macau Myanmar Chamber of Commerce for the education sector in Rakhine State and for other education needs.

ICRC President visits Buthidaung, Maungtaw
Sittway, June 27
Mr. Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), met people from Rakhine, Hindu and Muslim communities in Buthidaung and Maungtaw, Rakhine State on 27 June 2018.
During the visit, Mr. Peter Maurer exchanged views with the Maungtaw District Deputy Commissioner and discussed future cooperation. ICRC President said the international committee would provide assistance to all needy people without bias. He stressed the need to fulfil the requirements of the people who were affected by terrorist attacks. He also said that the services for education, healthcare, safe drinking water supply and development of the people needed to be provided.

Local, foreign Media delegation arrives Sittway
Sittway, June 27
A media delegation comprising a total of 18 local and foreign journalists arrived in Sittway on 27 June 2018 to report on the peace and stability, security, development and repatriation issues in Maungtaw, Rakhine State.
The delegation includes journalists from Kyodo, Xinhua, CNA, Wall Street Journal, RFA, BBC, AP, AFP, Frontier Myanmar, MIR, NPE, MRTV and MITV.
