Rakhine implementation committee holds sixth meeting
The coordination meeting 6/2018 of the Implementation Committee on Recommendations on Rakhine State was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting, the committee chairman Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr.Win Myat Aye said today’s meeting was the 6th coordination meeting in 2018, as well as the 15th committee meeting since the committee has been formed. “We have been implementing the main three points; security and socio-economic development of the whole Rakhine State, and getting the right entitlements according to rules and regulations. Of the 88 recommendations made on Rakhine State, all are urged to suggest and discuss the remaining recommendations. We are also carrying out to release the third report and to review ground situation, with the cooperation of the Rakhine State government”.
Joint Chairman Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu said, “ Currently, arrangements are being made to close down the Kyauktalone IDP camp in Kyaukpyu Township. Moreover, plans are under way to set up the regional development scheme and the process of NV cards is gaining momentum. We are working hard to bring about harmony between the different communities in the state and to give priority to restoring security and stability, of cooperation local residents”.
