Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye receives UNSG’s Special Envoy on Myanmar

Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye received a delegation led by United Nations Secretary General’s Special Envoy on Myanmar Ms. Christine Schraner Burgener at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During the meeting, national reconciliation and internal peace, performances of Implementation Committee on the Recommendations of the Advisory Commission on Rakhine State, conditions of Internally Displaced People (IDP) camps being closed and to be closed along with drawing up strategies for resettlement, cooperation with UN organizations, readiness of infrastructures for repatriation, issues about international aid, MoU signed between United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and issues about human rights and repatriation were discussed.
UNSG’s Special Envoy on Myanmar observes IDP camp in Kyauktaw Township

A delegation led by Ms. Christine Schraner Burgener met with civil societies at Sittway Hotel yesterday. Afterwards, they observed Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camp in Nhidin Village, Kyauktaw Township, Rakhine State, together with the authorities and they also met with local people in Kaung Tote Village, where both communities are living in harmony.
A total of 85 buildings were constructed for people of IDP camp in Nidhin Village, and the said camp has been closed, it is learnt.
