Local and foreign media visited the Taung Pyo Letwe Reception Center in Maungtaw Township to see the preparations for repatriation of displaced people from Rakhine State.
They visited the Myanmar-Bangladesh friendship bridge and the points where the returnees will be scrutinized. Afterwards, they interviewed the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, and Population. They asked about the steps that will be taken by the ministry for the repatriation and preparations for resettlement.
Later, they went to the boundary line and met with displaced people and asked them about their situation, aid, their opinions on NV cards. They also visited Mingyi Village and took a tour of newly constructed houses for villagers. During the visit, they interviewed the head of the village about the livelihood of the villagers and the aid they received, their population, and requirements for development.
