Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu receives Japan Parliament Delegation

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu received the delegation led by Mr. Kohjiroh Takano, President of WFP at the hall of Chief Minister office.

During the meeting, they discussed about the implementation of development programmes by the help of Japan Government in Rakhine State, the food aid supported by WFP and continued support, the prepareness of Union Government and State Government for the repatriation and resettlement processes of returnees.

Myanmar, Bangladesh conduct coordinated patrol along border

The 15-member Myanmar police troop led by Police Deputy Superintendent Tun Tun Soe of Aungzu Police Station in Maungtaw Township and the 15-member Bangladesh troop led by Naib Subedar Md. Mahabubur Rahman of Nikuchari Station of the No. 11 conducted a coordinated patrol along the border from Mile post No. 42 to 43, according to the Police Information Department.

Journalists visit reception centre, meet displaced people in Maungtaw
Maungtaw August 24

A media group including local and foreign journalists visited reception centres and displaced people living near boundary line in Maungtaw, Rakhine State yesterday.

At Taung Pyo Letwe Reception Centre, officials briefed about the repatriation processes and the journalists interviewed the officials. Afterwards they met with local people near boundary line.
