Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye receives Special Envoy of UNSG
Naypyitaw January 25Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye received Ms. Christine Schraner Burgener, Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General on Myanmar, yesterday at the Minister’s office in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they discussed matters relating to drawing up a strategy on closing down the internally displaced persons camps, preparing Fact-Sheet to give true information for the repatriation process, forming Pyithu Hluttaw committee to check the appeal and complaint letters, rendering humanitarian assistance to the people displaced by AA attacks, the movements of Red Cross Association in cooperation with ICRC and IFRC, drawing up schemes by the committee on implementing the recommendations on Rakhine State for cooperation with related ministries, cooperation with AHA centre, attracting investments to Rakhine State, the status of amending the child rights law and formation of National Committee and work committees for Preventing Grave Violations against Children in Armed Conflicts.
Local, foreign journalists perform media coverage in Buthidaung Township

Local and foreign media personnel arrived at the Donethein temporary camp in Buthidaung Township, Rakhine State, where they observed the ground situations.
There are totaling 263 displaced people, including 43 ethnic households, at the Donethein temporary camp, where the media personnel collected news from them. They then proceeded to the Dabyuchaung Village, where they met with Muslim families.
It is learnt that media group is comprised of journalists from Tokyo Shinbum, The Mainichi Newspaper, Sankei Shimbum, Nippon TV, TBS, AFP, Wall Street Journal, MI Radio, MITV, MRTV and MNA.
